By special order of Sir Tiger, our cat brother birthday purrthday boy, we’ve added some birthday treat labels and tags to our collection of pawesome printables made especially for cats. Feel the love, cat friends! Of course, the dogs demanded that there be a matching barkday set, so we’re sharing a double dose of birthday freebies. Woohoo! Plus, we’ve updated the freebie collection to include extra printables for furfamilies who celebrate pet adoption anniversaries instead. So many reasons to pawty! Whoot whoot!
Pawty Animals
Tiger was adopted as a scrawny little rescue cat, complete with guest fleas. Poor little dude. But now he’s a jet setting international moagie of mystery! We don’t know his real birthday, but the vet assigned him an estimated birthday during his first check up and we celebrate on that date. We expended our set of free printables to include adoption day tags and labels for furfriends who celebrate those dates instead.

Free Printable Pet Adoption Anniversary Labels and Tags
Birthdays? Adoption Days? Both?
As noted in the intro, we’ve always celebrated our pets’ birthdays rather than the day that they physically joined our family. Even rescue kitty Tiger, who’s real birthday isn’t known, celebrates on his vet nominated birthday. It was an estimate assigned as his birthday for paperwork when he was adopted. As some of our furfriends have pointed out though, adoption days are often celebrated instead. So, we’ve added adoption themed freebies to our printable collection. Whether you do birthdays, adoptions days, or both, now you can pick your favourite freebie design to suit the party and the pet. See below for more ideas on creating and customising your own special tags and labels.
Adoption Day? Adoptiversary? Gotcha Day? Something Else?
The free printables below include both Adoptiversary and Gotcha Day, and since these are jpegs, you can easily remove or add text with basic photo editing tools. Too tricky? No prob! We also have a huge collection paw print tags in a rainbow of colours you can use instead.

Creating Custom DIY Birthday Treat Labels
Colour and Creativity
If you have a different colour in mind, with basic photo editing skills/tools, you can tweak the tints to customise your own special tags. You can also check out our massive collection of coloured paw print tag and label freebies. These textless mix-and-match labels are available in a whole rainbow of colours, including a rich garnet, ruby red, and many more. The colours in that free printable collection were inspired by the different birthstones. There is also a plain black option, which is great for printing on a coloured paper, if you prefer.
You can print homemade tags on coloured paper instead of using coloured ink, or create extra special layered tags by gluing printed labels to a coloured or textured backing. This can be a great option if you want something that’s difficult to print, like a metallic, glittery, or textured paper. It’s also a cute option for strong patterns that would be distracting on the main body of the tag. Scrapbook paper is a great source for fancy firm backings. Recycled greeting cards work, too!
